Growing up I was always fascinated by the stock market. The stock market intrigued me, everything about it, and I wanted to be a part of it. I watched as my dad invested some money into a few shares, and I thought to myself “This is something that I’d like to do myself”. It seemed like such a simple thing, a little research, a few mouse clicks, but the simplicity was deceptive. In the stock market, there is perhaps infinite complexity, meaning that there is always something new to learn. Even if you think you know everything, the stock market can show you otherwise. It is a challenge unlike any other.
The thought of putting money in the stock money one day to see it grow another fascinates me!

Unfortunately, my dad lost the money that he invested in the stock market. He had taken advice from a banker who knew less than he thought he knew, and the investment turned out to be a bad one. From then on, he declared himself done with the stock market. Still, I remained confident that I could crack the code to the trading world. If I applied myself, if I kept learning, I could figure out a way to turn trading into a career for myself – I just knew it!
When I was 18, I graduated from college with a diploma in Computing. I took a position in payroll, just a regular 9-to-5 job, and I have continued to work in that position ever since. It was only when my nan passed away in 2015 that I started to get restless. That was the first time I understood just how short life is. Going through that loss, I decided that I needed to make a change in my life. I wanted more freedom for myself; I wanted to break away from the 9-to-5 lifestyle.
Reading more books about the important things in life, I started to incorporate minimalist principles in my day-to-day routine, taking on a vegan diet. Eventually, I realised that the path to true freedom lay in that early passion of mine, trading. So, I read a book by Warren Buffett, I made my first investment, and I earned a 30% return. After that, I invested again, that time earning a 40% return. From there, I knew that I had stumbled upon something personally important.
My Style
Charts are my thang’. I am a pure price action trader where I use trend analysis to form part of my trading plan. I love to keep everything simple and my charts clean.
Most none-traders believe that making money in the markets is about investing in the right companies, for the right fundamental reasons. This is not for me! Don’t get me wrong, this may work for some but to put it in plain English – I simply DON’T CARE!
Minimalism has allowed me to find that winning edge in the markets

Succeeding in trading is all about finding that winning edge in the markets by following a trading plan and continuing to apply that plan over and over again. By living a minimalistic life and carrying this over to my trading, I to am now beginning to have an edge in the markets.
